This workshop proved so popular we have ran two in August. Let us know if you would like to learn this technique next year.

 

Our embroidery classes are taught by Jane Playford.

Jane is highly skilled in all forms of embroidery. She shares her knowledge and expertise, working patiently with beginners and encouraging the intermediate students to stretch their skills.

Jane will hopefully be teaching the following techniques next year for beginners and the more experienced.

Floating Squares quilt

2 day workshop. £45
An easy pattern to piece but the finished result has an outstanding three dimensional effect of floating squares.

 

Bear workshop
Monday 26th September and Monday 10th October
2 day workshop £45
Come along and make your own bear and his or her outfit.
There are several different characters in the shop for inspiration.

Our pattern making course is at present on hold as the tutor is awaiting eye surgery. We hope to bring this to you in the New Year.

Pattern making (prices to follow)
We have a professional expert coming in to teach you how to make a pattern for you and how to alter and adjust it for a perfect fit.

Taster session
Bring along your own pattern and be given an insight into how to undertake alterations, measuring, size grading and styling.

We are also be running two 2 day workshops in pattern making
Be taught how to make a block pattern. Make and fit a fabric toile. Alter and style your own pattern. Problem solving.
Calico and paper pattern provided.

Make a cute caravan or a charming cottage cover for your sewing machine.

Applique cushion, bag or wallhanging

Made using the bonded method of appliqué.
Choice of designs available, details given when booking.

Paper piecing for Christmas
Monday 24th October £25
Create a lovely table runner or wall hanging of a Christmas tree or a wallhanging of a Father Christmas using foundation piecing.

Large tote sewing bag

Make a large bag with pockets for carrying your sewing equipment to and from classes or quilt group meetings.

Fabric covered Christmas box
Wednesday 2nd November £25
Make a padded, fabric covered box for displaying at Christmas for yourself or as a gift.

Velvet balls for Christmas
Thursday 3rd November £25
Jane will teach you to stitch the velvet to create a textured surface and embellish this with beads and make a unique Christmas decoration.
Tassel making for your fabric boxes and balls

Learn the art of making decorative tassels from simple to more complicated.

Toadstool doorstop
Saturday 19th November £25
Make a toadstool doorstop, have it natural or make it cute for the little people to live in.

Candle centrepiece

Make this beautiful three dimensional table centre. Make it in seasonal fabrics or not….the choice is yours.

UFO Embroidery day

Come along and finish off all your unfinished embroidery projects, Jane will be on hand for help and advice.
Our beginners classes in patchwork and quilting are held on Monday and Thursday evenings and daytime Tuesdays. Please contact us for details and availability.

Workshops must be paid in full at time of booking, either in person or by telephone.
If we need to cancel the workshop for any reason you will be offered either a full refund or an alternative date where possible.
